Elmira Bed Bugs

Bed Bugs are on the rise everywhere, including Elmira, NY. Syracuse and Buffalo made Orkin's list of New York States worse Bed Bug cities, but that is based on their sales figures. Just because Elmira isn't hiring Orkin, doesn't mean that bed bugs aren't on the rise in the southern tier.

What does that mean for you?

It is safe to assume that if you are reading this, you have either found bed bugs or have a strong suspicion you have a bed bug issue at your home. Don't base anything on bites alone, even if a doctor has told you that you have bed bug bites. We all react differently when we are bit by something, and sometimes we can get hives and other skin reactions from a  countless number of different situations not bed bug related at all. LOOK FOR THE EVIDENCE! Bed bugs are messy, they shed their exoskeletons as well as poop out all that blood they have been feeding from you. If you can't find any evidence, it's likely not bed bugs. Feel free to text me at 607.591.4563 and I will send you actual examples of what you are looking for and where to look for it.

Here are a few key points.

When you have bed bugs on the mind, everything you look at may be suspicious. Bed bug droppings will always smear when you text them. To do a "smear test", just wet your finger and rub the black mark. Droppings will look like little dark marks on your bedding, mattress, box spring, curtains as well as your base boards and moldings esp. around your bed.

A bed bug doesn't feed every day. They typically feed every 7 to 10 days, so if you are getting "eaten alive" or receiving a lot of "bites" every night, with a sudden onset, it is not likely bed bugs. The bites will start slow (once a week or so) and will increase in frequency over the following weeks as the infestation grows.

You can fairly easily see a bed bug with your eyes.

If you do find that you do have bed bugs, don't panic! This is not a big deal, people get them all the time.

We typically are able to offer same day or next day service to Syracuse, and all the surrounding communities.

We proudly serve the Southern Tier.

The Southern Tier is a geographic subregion of the broader Upstate New York region of New York State, consisting of counties west of the Catskill Mountains in Delaware County and geographically situated along or very near the northern border of Pennsylvania. Definitions of the region vary widely, but generally encompass localities in counties surrounding the Binghamton and Elmira-Corning metropolitan areas. This region is bordered to the south by the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania and both these regions together are known as the Twin Tiers.
