Extermination Preparation

Preparation requirements for very early signs of infestation, that you have NOT attempted any self treatment are very basic.

  • Prior to extermination, remove all bedding from mattresses and put them in the dryer for 20 mins on high heat.

  • Nothing can be under the bed, or on the closet floors.

  • De-clutter the house as much as possible. There should be no clutter on the floors.

  • Vacuum entire house including under the bed and closets, including along all moldings and baseboards.

  • DO NOT take down curtains or move furniture away from the walls.

If you have attempted self treatment, the infestation is over 3 months old or older or this is a reoccurring issue, the preparation is more extensive and listed below.

  • Prior to extermination, remove all bedding from mattresses, gather all linens, clothing, etc. from closets and dressers. Put them in the dryer for 20 mins on high heat. (Exceptions to prep are handled on a cause by cause basis and will be discussed at time of appointment booking)

  • Nothing can be under the bed, or on the closet floors.

  • De-clutter the house as much as possible. There should be no clutter on the floors.

  • Vacuum entire house including under the bed and closets, including along all moldings and baseboards.

  • Empty wooden nightstands that are next to the bed(s) and remove drawers if possible. Bedbugs can and will seek refuge between the boards of wooden furniture. â€‹

  • DO NOT take down curtains or move furniture away from the walls.

Yes, it is annoying and time consuming to prepare, but it is best to do it right the first time and avoid voiding your warranty should the extermination fail because the space was not prepared!
